The DNG was offcially founded in August of 1998 by its original members, Josh, Brian, Dong-Min, and Alex at the Rappohanock River Campground in Virginia.

The DNG is a group of young men who often meet to discuss and plan outdoor adventures, namely camping and hiking primarily for the return to nature and primitivity. So far, the DNG has only gone on two excursions. The first being to Rappahanock County, Virginia, where the DNG was founded and the second to Monolahega National Forest, West Virginia.
